At ISY, we display the art work of every child in the Elementary School twice a year:
Art Show I and Art Show II.
Throughout the school year though, our art gallery is a great place to host a selection of students' work and explore different themes. We use the Art Gallery to make exhibitions visits where we talk and discuss art, compare and contrast styles, techniques and principles of Art.

SCHOOL YEAR 2011 - 2012
October 2011 Art Show I: "Cocoricco"
From every village's clock tower to the expression "avoir un esprit de clocher", our students were taken on a journey to my home country to visit some fun facts about the way French people live, the diversity of France with its castles, villages, cows, geographical particularities, traditions, people, poetry and art.
March 2012 Art Show II:
"We love Art!"
This show is about Nature and colors. Students have explored a variety of ways to appreciate colors in Nature.
SCHOOL YEAR 2010 - 2011
August 2010 Opening of the new ISY Art Gallery
The elementary students worked on portraits, self portraits and portraits inspired by Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol.
They used collages, printing techniques, acrylic and water color paint, and carbon paper.
October 2010 Art Show I:
"Myanmar"
Inspirations from Kachin Manau Padungs, Shin posts, the site of Bagan, ShweDagon pagoda, the Burmese Royal Family portraits, textile designs from the Karen and Shan people, the Myanmar New Year Thindgyan, Myanmar Nats...
April 2011 Art Show II:
"The Elements"
This art show was prepared around the visit of our 2010 - 2011 author: Tanya Batt.
Tanya has an amazing career in storytelling and performing arts. Her beautifully illustrated books of old folk stories have inspired our students to work on the Elements of Nature.
